Rat Whisperer

GR called me that today. Perhaps I'll drop out of college and train rats for a living. Apparently UCLA has technicians in their research laboratories who do precisely that.


If I talk to my rats, not just using the voice you talk to babies while they're tiny and cute (see above 1), but even after they've grown up and gotten slightly fatter and much less cute, using the voice I talk to other humans... does that mean I'm crazy? (what an awkwardly phrased question)


As cute as my rats are, and as excited as I am about this project, I'm not looking forward to coming into lab this weekend to continue training my rats. I am looking forward to having Monday off, and going to New York next weekend with a group of really good friends, and welcoming everyone back onto campus the weekend after that.
